Visiting Porto

Porto is the second-largest city in Portugal, after Lisbon, and one of the major urban areas of the Iberian Peninsula.

Elected Best European Destination 2022 by the travelers from 174 countries, Porto is history, architecture, culture, gastronomy, trade, encounters, and discoveries. Porto was also elected Europe’s Leading City Destination 2022, on the 29th edition of the World Travel Awards (WTA).

Located along the Douro River, Porto is one of the oldest European cities, and its historical center was proclaimed a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, in 1996. The western part of its urban area extends to the coastline of the Atlantic Ocean.

Porto has all the charm of towns which happily cohabit with their river. You can stroll along the River Douro (river of gold) in the Ribeira, discover Porto’s architecture, its amazing landscapes and magnificent bridges by taking a cruise on this majestic river. Porto is also a sea city and in the briefest of time a tram will bring you to Foz do Douro’s gentle beaches face to face with the Atlantic.
